Our History
BUILT IN 1876, THIS IS THE ORIGINAL LOG CABIN THAT SAT ON THE PROPERTY
The property has a rich history, starting with a Log Cabin that was built in 1876. Initially, the cabin served as a crafts/ceramics gift store. Over the years, it became well-known in the area.
In the early 1990’s, the main kennel building was constructed, with 20 indoor/outdoor runs on the property. The facility was named Log Cabin Kennel, in honor of the historic 1876 cabin.
In 2000, the kennel was purchased by the current owners, Paula and Allison, who have been running it and are proud to maintain the rich history of the land while keeping the name as it so precisely fits the property.
To meet the growing demand for our services, we decided to expand the kennel. In the mid-2000’s, we added a second building, increasing the run capacity to 36 runs. This expansion allowed us to accommodate more dogs and provide a comfortable environment for our furry guests.
In 2016, the kennel introduced a dog training program. This program offers training sessions to help dogs develop good behavior, obedience, and socialization skills. With the addition of this program, the kennel expanded its services to not only provide excellent boarding facilities but also to help dogs and their owners build a strong bond through training.
The combination of the historic Log Cabin, the expansion of the kennel, the dedicated staff, and the introduction of the dog training program have all contributed to our success and reputation over the years.
